Egyptian security authorities say the pioneer of an activist gathering has been shot dead in the Sinai promontory.

Shadi el-Menei was the head of Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, thought to have been behind a string of late ambushes.

A few different parts of the al-Qaeda-enlivened gathering were said to have been executed however this has not been affirmed.

The passings of more than 200 Egyptian officers and authorities have been faulted for Ansar Beit al-Maqdis since President Mohammed Morsi was expelled in July 2013.

Authorities told the AFP news org that security strengths opened fire on the men as they were going to complete a strike on a gas pipeline in focal Sinai.
