An American football player has been arraigned in Texas for professedly hitting his young tyke with a tree extension.
The lawyer for Adrian Peterson, who plays for NFL side Minnesota Vikings, said the sportsman "utilized his judgment as a guardian to train his child."
Mr Peterson laments the episode and never expected to damage the four-year-old, lawyer Rusty Hardin included.
The claims come days after an alternate NFL star had his agreement ended for hitting his wife.
