French planes have done their first strikes against Islamic State (IS) activists in Iraq, the workplace of President Francois Hollande says. 

An announcement said planes had assaulted an IS logistics stop in north-east Iraq. 

France was at that point doing surveillance flights over Iraq and giving weapons to Kurdish warriors. 

President Hollande said on Thursday that French air strikes would just focus on the jihadist bunch's positions in Iraq, and not neighboring Syria. 

He likewise demanded that he would not send ground troops.
